Anna Reihmann, known as LUVSIC, is a passionate artist and muralist born & based out of Denver, Colorado. Growing up in the Mile High City sparked her love for urban culture & music, while regular and close access to the Rocky Mountains gave her a deep love of nature and all its majestic beauty. Her art ebs & flows between these contrasting landscapes - blending together at times. This love of both city and mountain life has paved the way for her artistic style. From hip-hop culture to native local wildflowers, her work is a blend of the enriching environment she both lives and breathes.
LUVSIC’s passion for creating art began in childhood and progressed throughout her life. In middle & high school, she often could be found sitting in the hallways or in classrooms drawing in her black-book and sharing her creations. She took as many art classes as she could get away with and entered into her first art shows around this time. She then attended Metropolitan State University of Denver studying art with a specialty in drawing and painting which greatly honed her skills as a realism artist. Her dedication and attention to detail awarded her great success in her time as a student and continues on in her mural work and creative endeavors today. Detail and precision with realistic elements while embracing fun, bright color pallets and playful brush strokes are a true testament to LUVSIC’s spirit as an artist and human being.
When not working part-time as a preschool teacher’s aide, LUVSIC enjoys creating art, time with loved ones, cooking, & teaching tricks to Shelly, her pet house-rabbit. Otherwise, you can find her roaming the local landscape enjoying Colorado’s 300+ days of sunshine. Whether it's exploring Denver’s spirited art, food & music scenes, or getting “lost” in the mountains hiking, snowboarding, camping... you name it! She is sure to be soaking up all of life’s beauty and wonder, in hopes to translate that onto a canvas, paper or wall to share inspiration and joy with her community.

About the Artist

What the artist has to say…
“I really enjoy creating portrait work or realism with abstract, bold, loud colors; but with fine art training in my past there are elements of that as well. I don’t really try to limit myself to certain styles or mediums. I have things I enjoy doing more than others but I just enjoy playing around with and mixing materials to see what outcome I get. There are no rules.
I think part of the reason I love doing portrait work comes from my desire to be good at portraits/realism from a young age. Through drawing classes I was able to learn techniques and skills to be able to produce realistic work that brought joy to my inner child. I love drawing or painting portraits of my favorite rappers, artists, humans... I love producing work inspired by this beautiful planet we live on and the creatures that live here. Sometimes I just create from my mind. But everything I create comes from my soul and I only hope that it brings as much joy to you as it does to me."
 Thank you.

Why the name 'LUVSIC'?...
"When I was in high-school, I was really into underground hip-hop and graffiti culture. I loved watching YouTube videos of graffiti artists and taggers, scrolling graffiti culture webpages, roamed alleyways in my neighborhood & so on. I started messin' around with creating tags in my black book and wanted to have my own name like the writers I admired. So I started to think about a name of my own.
Around the same time, I came upon the music of Japanese producer Nujabes. I quickly fell in love with his music and starting listening to it regularly. In particular, I really grasped onto his hexalogy "Luv (sic.) pts 1-6" which is a series of songs Nujabes created with rapper Shing02, each version different than the last, yet follows a theme like a series of paintings. This series of songs, among much of his other work became theme songs to my daily life and inspired me as I created my own art and eventually inspired me to adopt it as my artist name.
Tragically, Nujabes passed away in a car accident in 2010 which was a terrible loss to the hip-hop community. His name and soul live on in his music which inspires so much love in others like myself. Through the years I have continued to keep his music close to my heart and ears, like a constant, guiding me back to my childhood dreams of being an artist and my teenage visions of LUVSIC."

What about the '5280' & '303'?...
"Denver, Colorado USA is my hometown, these numbers are both representations of this beautiful city. Denver sits at an elevation of 5,280 feet, that's exactly one mile above sea level. As many locals do, I love reppin' the 'Mile High City', so 5280 has naturally been absorbed into my name and business. The 303 refers to Denver's original area code and is also a favorite way among locals to rep our beloved city."

LUVSIC represents the inability to conform to anything other than one's own dream reality.
To be in love with one's DREAM LIFE, so much that one is unable to act “normally” or “rationally”:
a LUVSIC artist.
What does 'LUVSIC' mean to you?...
"Life has taken me down many paths, some towards & some away from my goals. The name LUVSIC itself never had much meaning to me other than the song titles from an artist I love, but as my life went on the name LUVSIC started to develop new meaning for me. I began seeing how being "love-sick" for toxic people and putting all my energy into them only left me feeling lost in a deep depression, with little to no energy left to create art or go after my goals... I started to become "love-sick" for my own dreams and a better life. When I forced myself to confront my fear of loneliness, change my mindset, and go all in on building a life that sparked joy in me, things started to shift...

The term "lovesick" is an adjective used to describe a person who loves or misses a person so much that they are unable to act normally. So for me, LUVSIC is a representation of my inability to act "normal", to give up on my dreams. LUVSIC is a representation of pouring so much love into yourself and your dreams that you refuse to conform to anything other than that which is YOU. LUVSIC represents the inability to conform to anything other than one's own dream reality."
